A variety of antelope and small mammals can be spotted, and although predators are seldom seen, there are leopard, caracal, brown hyena, and black-backed jackal on the reserve. A variety of hiking trails can be taken, such as the 19.5km Baviaanskrans Route, which includes the Waterfall View and the Garden of Remembrance, and the 25.3km Summit Route where you can swim in natural pools. Less fit hikers can do the 2km Vlei Ramble to enjoy bird watching from a viewing hut.
