About Tanagra Bottlebrush

Bottlebrush is a charming and spacious one-bedroom apartment attached to the old Tanagra homestead offering McGregor accommodation with beautiful landscapes, mountain views and sunsets. Tanagra is a wine farm surrounded by vineyards, indigenous fynbos and mountains. It is located 4.5km outside McGregor and adjoins the Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve.

Self Catering Accommodation

Bottlebrush is a spacious and tastefully furnished one-bedroom apartment in McGregor sleeping two adults. The bedroom is furnished with a King-size bed and the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a walk in shower, a bath, toilet and basin.

Wooden floors and high vault reed ceilings make this apartment light and airy.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has gas hot plates, a microwave, kettle, toaster and bar fridge. There is a fireplace and a small dining table where you can enjoy your meals.

The kitchen is open plan to the siting area and outside there is a private covered patio with scenic views on the mountains.

There are braai facilities in the garden. Guests have access to the communal swimming pool.

Wine experience at Tanagra

Tanagra is a boutique wine cellar producing hand-crafted distinctive wines (mainly noble red wines) maturing in French oak. A boutique distillery has been at work since December 2009, producing top-range European style Grappas and Eau de Vies. You are welcome to explore the vineyards and get personally introduced to the cellar and the Tanagra wines by the owners and your hosts Anette and Robert.

The Area

The best thing to do is to simply rest and unwind with a good book and a glass of wine in the garden or on your stoep and explore the farm for walks or to watch birds which are there in abundance. Tanagra farm is 78ha in size and for most parts accessible by various walking/hiking trails (also great for mountain-biking) ranging from a leisurely 10 minutes' walk to a couple of hours' hike. If you wish to be more active, there are a variety of activities to pursue.
