About The Albatross Beach House

The Albatross Beach House in Vleesbaai is uniquely positioned on the water's edge, with just a frog's leap between you and the Indian Ocean. You can drop a stone from the balcony into the water, that's the proximity to the water.

Uninterrupted views of crystal blue water, sparkling surf and pristine white sand stretches on for miles as far as the eye can see. On a full moon night, golden rays of light forms a path from heaven onto your lap and leaves you in awe with the magnitude of heavenly beauty …

Ideally suited for three couples (the house sleeps six adults), wanting to slow down, charge their batteries and shut down. (Unfortunately, no children under the age of 12 and no pets allowed) It is a place of 'just being', where you can ensure to find peace for the soul.

Self Catering Accommodation

The house consists of three bedrooms all with double beds, of which the main bedroom is en-suite with a shower and two double rooms share a bathroom with shower, toilet, separate toilet and wash basin. The outside shower with a view is favoured by the whale and dolphin watchers.

The house offers an uninterrupted view of the ocean and has a unique position that cannot be matched in South Africa! All the sea facing windows in the lounge / dining room area, fold up and slide to the side, offering a feeling of being outside.

The rustic feel and sensitive combination of stone, combined with simplicity of earthly elements and special paint and plaster effects, blends in with the majestic Indian Ocean, as the only adornment to the house. Beautiful imported light fittings enhance the romantic atmosphere at night.

All the necessary amenities (including a lovely indoor barbecue / fireplace) are available including satellite TV.

Attractions and Activities

Enjoy long walks on the ivory sand beach, lie in the sun on the deck or wake up to the noise of seagulls and oyster catchers, enjoying themselves on the rocks. Go for an early morning swim and refresh your body with a cold shower outside whilst watching the whales and dolphins.

There are tennis and squash courts nearby and we are ten minutes drive to Boggoms Bay. Mossel Bay is within close proximity and can be reached within 30 minutes and offers all that could be required for shopping, restaurants and sight seeing.
