The Bakoni Hide-Away architecture was inspired by the many stone circles that occur in this region and the Bakoni people who are believed to have roamed the area in the past. The cottage is ideal for a romantic getaway for two, or for two good friends. The King-size bed with a thick overlay can be separated into two comfy single beds. An additional guest, two at a squeeze can be accommodated on mattresses on the mezzanine floor above the lounge. The en-suite bathroom has a dual shower. There is a gas stove and a fridge in the kitchen. There is a fire place in the lounge as well as a gas heater for cold winter evenings. The geyser provides extremely hot water but, in rainy weather, may take time to warm up. Plug points are provided for charging laptops and phones (but not hairdryers). Front wall of glass doors opens cottage to the bush and there is a loft reading area.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
