About The Ibis Lounge

The Ibis Lounge is located in the Karoo town of Nieu Bethesda; a place where once can lead a simpler, less hectic life. Wander the dirt roads; appreciate the Karoo light, mountains, air and rural atmosphere. The Ibis Lounge is an eclectic gathering spot on Martin Street that is the place to be, whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner, to pick up something special at the shop.

Accommodation

The Karoo Room:
The Karoo Room has reed ceilings and is furnished with a double bed. Large doors open onto a stoep. The interior is decorated with Charmaine Haines art and there is a separate room just for the bath. Other facilities include a shower, toilet, electric blankets, a heater, fan, toiletries, a bathroom heater and heated towel rails.

Amore Room:
Our Amore Room is our room of love, decorated all in white, with its double bed featuring a love headboard. The en-suite bathroom has a shower and heater, with heated towel rails. A fan, electric blanket and more are available.

The Happy Room:
The Happy Room has two ¾ beds and is decorated in bright colours and themes from our travels in South America. The large bathroom has a double shower (two people can shower – each with separate controls and shower head). There is a ball-and-claw bath, under-floor heating, heated towel rails, a fan, electric blanket and more.

Facilities

During summer, our guests can cool off in our private swimming pool. A large stoep boasts a fire pit and our walled garden offers privacy.

The Ibis Lounge Restaurant

This is somewhere that the owner, Terry Winship, envisioned as a place for a decent cup of coffee. Sit on the stoep or if it's chilly settle down next to one of the two fireplaces while enjoying a meal. The restaurant is open seven days a week (08h00 to 20h00) and serves burgers, steaks, pastas and curry. Produce is sourced locally and the organic veggies are from our garden, when in season.
