About The Laughing Forest

The Laughing Forest which is on the beach and surrounded by coastal dune forest, is in the quiet village of Elysium on the KZN South Coast, 55 mins from Durban. This location is ideal for spending quality time with your family and will suit those looking to get away from it all! The six acre property on which the Laughing Forest exists is home to impete buck, birds, monkeys and other wildlife.

Accommodation

We offer self-catering and bed only accommodation to the guests. Each cabin is etched into its own private space in the coastal dune forest. The units consist of 5 self-catering family cabins, in which each unit has a main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, open plan kitchen, lounge/2nd bedroom that opens out onto a sundeck. All kitchens are fully equipped with microwave, mini oven, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster etc.

We also have 7 Twin / Double Rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Rooms consist of either Double, Twin or King size beds. The rooms share a kitchen, where tea/coffee making facilities are available with a microwave, fridge & freezer.

All units have braai facilities and there is also a communal braai facility by the swimming pool. Please supply your own swimming/beach towels.

Breakfast

Breakfasts are offered at an additional charge. Please advise on check in.

The Area

This venue is ideally suited for golf groups as we have several top 100 courses scattered around us, the light tackle, rock and surf fishing is also good.

The Elysium Beach is within easy walking distance of The Laughing Forest. There are a number of tidal pools which make for easy swimming and snorkelling!
