The Peech Hotel is Joburg's ‘chic' boutique hotel. Situated at 61 North Street, in Melrose it offers sixteen (16) bedrooms and suites, a Bistro restaurant with champagne bar and a boardroom and events space. The hotel is swish and sexy ... the ideal hangout for trendy travellers in the hunt for no-frills contemporary style.

ACCOMMODATION

The Peech has thirteen bedrooms and three suites located in the Main House and the annexes. The rooms are modern and edgy with an indigenous, African feel. Crisp white sheets, feather duvets, oregon pine floors and blesbok skins give the rooms a chic, natural feel. iPod docking stations, WiFi and electronic safes ensure they have the latest technology. All rooms are air conditioned.

The bathrooms have chic Hans Grohe fittings, separate ‘Raindance' showers, Molton Brown amenities, hairdryers and bathrobes. For a small additional charge guests can also enjoy membership of the adjacent Planet Fitness gym - 50m lap pool, cardio machines, weights room and access to all classes.

Rooms are priced per night, inclusive of breakfast and WiFi access.

BISTRO AND CHAMPAGNE BAR

Bistro @ The Peech is the hotel's chic bistro restaurant overlooking the pool & lush gardens. Dining can be indoor or on the terrace and is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The focus is on flavour and polished simplicity. Under the guidance of our head chef guests to Bistro @ The Peech can expect a host of stylish signature dishes.

The bistro features a champagne bar with a wide range of champagnes (including Veuve Clicquot, Pol Roger and Laurent Perrier) as well as some innovative cocktail recipes - “Veuve Mixology” - a bottle of Veuve Clicquot 'Yellow Label' and all the ingredients and recipes for a great evening of champagne cocktails - Peech Bellini, Kir Royale, Chambord & Champagne…

THE BOARDROOM

Guests on business are provided with an array of services and facilities, including wireless internet access, informal meeting areas, a boardroom accommodating up to 20 delegates and a central location to the business districts of Rosebank, Illovo and Melrose Arch.

ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES

Joburg is the world's largest man-made forest and the hotel is set amongst big trees and in an indigenous garden. The hotel has a swimming pool for cooling off in and lazy loungers and hammocks for sitting in the garden and contemplating life.

Tours can easily be arranged to: The Apartheid Museum, an architectural masterpiece which attempts to give a balanced account of 20th Century South Africa; Township tours of Soweto, including Nelson Mandela's original home; Constitution Hill, the new home of the Constitutional Court and a prison where Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were incarcerated. Joburg has some excellent galleries including MOMA, Everard Read and the Johannesburg Art Gallery.
