About The Tin Shack Eco Cabin

The Tin Shack is a container-built eco cabin located on a hill in St Helena Bay and overlooks the town and the bay, with the Cederberg Mountains in the distance.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Tin Shack offers accommodation in St Helena Bay in two en-suite bedrooms, a spacious living area and kitchen.

Each bedroom is furnished with a King-size bed or two single beds and the en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, basin and compost toilet which is serviced every day. Rainwater is collected as much as possible, and all grey water is recycled for the garden.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes a fridge / freezer, gas hob and microwave. The interior is minimalist and has an industrial look but the beautiful clean finishes have not been compromised.

The spacious deck has braai facilities, including a charcoal braai and smoker, outdoor seating, and a wood-fired hot tub.

Experience

The Tin Shack is situated on a smallholding with natural vegetation, abundant birdlife, including birds of prey such as kestrels and eagles, and small wildlife like mongoose, francolin, guinea fowl, tortoises and the occasional duiker roaming free.

It is the ideal spot for escaping technology, reading a book, or relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the view. In the right season, and equipped with a pair of binoculars, whales and dolphins can be seen playing in the bay.
