About Village Guest Cottages

The Village Guest Cottages has comfortable self catering cottages and offers a rare tranquility in the original Irene Village. This small leafy town is ideally situated close to major roads and business centers while still retaining its old-world charm. The boomed security village with partially restricted access offers visitors surroundings that are both beautiful and secure.

Accommodation

Choose from one of two free-standing cottages – both privately set in a lush garden. Both cottages are ideal for self-catering guests – with well-equipped kitchens, comfortable work space as well as private garden areas to relax in. In-room breakfasts can be served upon request.

Cottage 1:
Cottage one is a free-standing cottage with three rooms – a bedroom, lounge / kitchen combination and bathroom. The bedroom contains a double bed with small desk and offers lovely, private views of the garden.

Cottage 2:
Cottage two is also a free-standing cottage, but with two rooms – an open plan bedroom / lounge / kitchen combination and bathroom. The bedroom contains a double bed or two single beds, depending on your needs. There is also ample working space available. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge, within certain limits.

Both Cottages:
• The lounge areas in both cottages are comfortably furnished with a couch and television offering a bouquet of DStv channels, as well as a DVD player
• The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering guests and includes a convection stove and microwave oven, with plenty of solid-wood working space
• The bathroom offers a shower, basin and WC
• Guests can relax in a private garden area with furniture and braai facilities and enjoy the famed Irene bird life
• Secure, covered parking is also provided close to the cottages
• The cottages both have safes and internal alarm systems, and are also secured by external security beams which can be used at guests' discretion

Attractions and Activities

Stroll safely through our leafy village to visit some of the historic sites in Irene. Irene Primary school (originally built for concentration camp children during the South African war) and the Irene Concentration Camp Graveyard are about 2km away. Or visit the hundred-year-old Irene Dairy. Here you can lounge in the farm restaurant under giant oak trees and watch the cows come in to be milked or browse through the delicatessen for raw farm milk and various other home-made goodies.
