Tierhoek Cottages can be found nestled in the private Tierhoek Valley at the foot of the Laangeberg Mountains near Robertson. Only two hours away from Cape Town, Tierhoek Cottages are situated on a working organic fruit farm. Here you can find peace and tranquillity, ideal for romantic getaways or for family gatherings.

Self Catering Accommodation

All the cottages are elegantly furnished and fully equipped. They have indoor and outdoor fireplaces, wide verandahs and private pools. All kitchen and bathroom basics are provided and there is wood and dried fruit and jam for sale on an honesty system.

Activities & Attractions

On the farm you can go walking and hiking. There are various paths you can use to hike up into the mountains or walk around the farm. Maps of the area are available for your pleasure, in each cottage.

You are welcome to go mountain biking around the farm, though there are no designated cycle routes. Go birdwatching, so bring your binoculars and you are likely to spot the Black Eagle, Jackal buzzard and plenty of sunbirds and so on. Farm animals include cows, sheep, pigs and donkeys. Wildlife include tortoises, buck, hares, guineafowl, baboons and others.

Situated at the top of the farm Quince Cottage looks across the lemon orchards into the Laangeberg mountains. The pool is situated up some steps above the cottage and you can enjoy peace and complete privacy. Enjoy starlit nights. Mountain walks start from the cottage and you may even get a visit from Milly, Tilly and Violet our donkeys. The two-bedroom romantic cottage is furnished with one Queen-size bed and one set of twin beds (i.e. sleeps two kids) and with extra bunk-beds for another two children. There are two bathrooms. Fully-equipped kitchen with gas-cooker. Open fireplace and shaded stoep. Swimming-pool, and braai area Very private, perfect for couples or families.

Great mountain walks from the cottage. One-bedroom romantic cottage with queen-size bed and large bath. Fully-equipped kitchen with fridge and gas-cooker and microwave. Open fireplace and French doors onto shaded stoep. A plunge-pool leads off the stoep and braai area which is very private.
