From Guateng (Johannesburg and Pretoria)
Follow the N4 towards Nelpsruit. Take the Belfast off ramp and drive through Belfast, Dull stroom, Lydenburg (Mashishing) and Origstad. Go over the Abel Erusmus pass and through the Strydom Tunnel and on to Hoedspruit. Once in Hoedspruit, cross the railway bridge and then at the 4-way stop, turn left onto the R40 towards Phalaborwa. About 17km down the road, look out for the sign that reads “Balule-Olifants West gate”. The gate to the reserve is on the R40 between Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa.
There is a conservation levy payable at the gate. Once inside, turn immediately left onto Maroela laan. This road goes along the fence for a while and then bends right into the reserve. There is a sign that shows Maroela Road to the right. Turn right and follow the road until you get to a 4-way with a sign saying Sable Road to the right. Turn Right onto Sable and carry on down the road until you get to a sign that says Toro Yaka on the right. Turn Right into the drive and we will see you at the lodge.
