The Storytellers has a true, close-to-nature experience with spectacular mountain views and walking trails, set in fynbos with wildlife all around you. Guests have various swimming options, including a gorgeous dam, a waterfall with spectacular views and clean, shallow rock pools for the kids. At The Storytellers, we believe in keeping it as simple as possible!

Activities and Attractions

The Agter-Pakhuis Valley, which marks the northern reach of the Cederberg Mountains as they fade out into the rolling hills of the Karoo, is just more than 20km east of Clanwilliam, towards the historic Moravian village of Wupperthal or heading out to Calvinia.

This prehistoric area is home to several unique plant and wildflower species, as well as leopard, rooikat, baboon, mountain hare, porcupine and a plethora of other wild creatures. The valley hosts an incredibly dense gallery of !Xam and Khoi rock paintings and sites of archaeological interest. Other attractions include hiking trails, Storytellers Fynbos Apothecary natural products workshop, Sevilla Rock Art Trail, wine tasting, viewing the wildflowers in Spring, visiting the Calvinia Museum and rock climbing.
