About Troutwoods Cottage

Troutwoods Cottage is located on a working farm close to the town of Dullstroom, Machadodorp and Belfast and offers exclusive, private, self-catering, dog-friendly accommodation, there is only one cottage on the farm and is fenced off.

This establishment is a perfect destination for a family getaway with or without pets, a fly-fishing heaven and hiker's paradise. This is an ideal getaway for anyone looking for privacy, peace and quiet, and is a place where you can get back in touch with nature.

Self Catering Accommodation

The cottage has a open plan kitchen, lounge / dining area with an indoor braai. The kitchen is equipped with all your necessities in order to create a scrumptious meal. The lounge has a built in fireplace. There are braai facilities outside in a boma.

There are two bedrooms, each with double bed and two fold up beds can be arranged for two small children at an additional fee. One bedroom has a fireplace and the other has a heater. The first bathroom has a bath as well as a shower while the second bathroom is fitted with a bath and outdoor shower.

Pet Friendly

Welcome to all furry friends. We hope you enjoy your stay with us and have a blast. To have you coming back over and over I have to set some rules for all to obey and keep the cottage clean and enjoyable for the not furry friends visiting. Our couches and bedding are comfortable as is, so we don't need extra fur to make them cosy!

Please keep the blankets on the couches on at all times and please provide your pets with their own bedding. Please ensure that all pottying is done outside and cleaned up. So, all pets, go out and enjoy the farm and run around like crazy, just watch out for the cows!! and do enjoy a dip in the dam.

Attractions

Troutwoods Cottage is home to many farm animals, ducks and trout which can be found in the dam. The farm boasts three well-stocked trout dams (fly fishing ONLY) where guests can fish on a catch-and-release basis. Guest can enjoy an early morning stroll or sunset walk observing the abundant bird life and game viewing of blesbok, springbok, black wildebeest, deer, zebra, buffalo and ostriches. Apart from cattle, sheep, chickens and goats which you may hear silently and soothingly in the background at times here you will find tranquility for your soul.
