About Umzimkulu River Lodge
Umzimkulu River Lodge offers serviced Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering accommodation on one of the most beautiful bends of the Umzimkulu River in the Southern Drakensberg. Umzimkulu River Lodge is just two hours from Durban and six hours from Johannesburg in the foothills of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site.
Accommodation
The comfortable self catering cottages are set along the river bank, each with their own log fires, BBQ facilities and beautiful country vistas. The cottages are nicely spaced for peace and privacy.

Attractions and Activities
Activities include: trout fishing, small Bass dam, adventure playground, animal farm, walks, birding, Quad bike trails, horse riding and river rafting nearby.
Fishing
Fishermen enjoy the unrivalled opportunities to catch rainbow trout along our 2.5km stretch of the Umzimkulu. Should the river conditions be unfavorable, there is a trophy dam on our neighbouring farm available to our guests - booking essential. The rivers are open from from September to end May every year. Dams are however open for year round fishing enjoyment.
Canoeing & Tubing
Canoes, paddles and tubes are available to our guests for hire. Tubing is a favorite summer activity. Guests are dropped off about 5km upriver and tube back to the lodge.
