Umzimvubu Retreat is situated on densely forested dunes on First Beach, overlooking the Umzimvubu River Mouth and Indian Ocean within comfortable walking distance from the town center.
Experience the incredible scenic beauty of the Wild Coast. Umzimvubu Retreat has been beautifully restored. The woodwork finish extends a subtle charm to the warm atmosphere.
Accommodation
The guestrooms at Umzimvubu Retreat are spotlessly clean and comfortably equipped. All rooms have TV's, tea / coffee and ceiling fans. Limited DStv is available. Selected rooms are available where children are able to share with parents at a minimal rate.
The honeymoon suite offers all required amenities with awe inspiring views (even from the bathroom). The majority of the rooms have excellent views (you can actually watch whales from your room!) and have private entrances and patios where one can relax and enjoy the scenery and abundant birdlife, lulled by the sounds of the ocean.
Dining
Gigantic breakfasts are served daily in true South African tradition, the selections regularly being varied & as a rule including fresh fruit salad, yoghurts and cereals. Select from cappuccino, latte or espresso at the coffee station or enjoy a lovely cup of tea. A nice touch is that coffee and homemade biscuits/rusks are on hand at all times for guests who become peckish.
Enjoy the friendly atmosphere and fine dining at what is arguably the best food in town right at the guesthouse. Set-menu options are traditional SA cooking - all food are prepared freshly on site. A selection of wines is available. Dinner by Appointment Only.
