Utshwayelo Kosi Mouth Lodge is one of the Kosi Bay guest houses and provides accommodation in 17 guest rooms for anyone visiting the Elephant Coast region.
Nestled in the most north-eastern corner of South Africa lies Utshwayelo Kosi Mouth Lodge. The lodge offers Kosi Bay accommodation just a stone's throw from the pristine beach. This is where the blue waters of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site flow into the Indian Ocean at the mouth of the Kosi Bay estuary system near the Mozambique border. Utshwayelo Kosi Mouth Lodge takes its name from the 800-year-old fish kraals celebrating the traditions and culture of the Thonga people.
From en-suite luxury tents to en-suite rustic chalets / cabins and tented camps, Utshwayelo Kosi Mouth Lodge offers something to suit everyone.
Wade among the iconic traditional Tsonga fish traps from which the lodge takes its name, snorkel in the estuary teeming with tropical fish, go hippo spotting on a scenic boat trip on the lakes or hike through the unspoiled bush.
When your day is done, unwind under the magnificent ancient Umdoni trees next to the pool or enjoy a sundowner at the Fishtrap bar and plan your adventure for the new day.

What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. To compensate, South African property owners are turning to solar power, inverters with backup batteries or in some cases generators to keep the power on, wherever feasible.

Overall nice experience. Very accommodating when the cabin was not to our liking. Went the extra mile to spoil us on the first two days. Food was wonderful! Some of the cabins and tents need some serious maintenance. The bar is also poorly stocked and when asked to stock e.g. white wine this was not done. Given the remote location and proximity to the kosi mouth, a good place to stay
