Just one hour from Johannesburg, The River House is the perfect getaway for intimate weekends or large group vacations. The Vaal River Bush Lodge has three bedrooms with full en-suite bathrooms and guest toilet. There are three King-size beds, three single beds and two sofa beds. All bedrooms lead off from the idyllic leisure and living area. A fully-equipped kitchen serves the eight seater dining table in the large, open-plan area. There is also a six seater downstairs bar and leisure area which is equipped with a second kitchenette for effortless socializing. The house features three fireplaces, seven flatscreen TVs and a Jacuzzi. The house centres around a sparkling clear pool with wooden deck surrounded by lush indigenous vegetation. Natural wood prominently features in the interior finishes, with plenty of natural light streaming in from the many retractable doors and windows. The unique ‘Boathouse' is a glass-walled sun-room suspended above the Vaal River and is a spectacular place to spend the afternoon.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.
