Accommodation

Varkenskraal Farm presents two delightful self-catering guest houses: Die Werkershuisie and Die Voerstal. Both houses comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests. Die Werkershuisie, an original workers' cottage tastefully restored, provides a stunning view over the vineyards. This family-friendly unit includes a loft-style bedroom, a cozy sleeping nook for children, and a single bathroom.

Die Voerstal is a spacious two-bedroom house, each room featuring an en-suite bathroom. The property also includes a charming veranda and a fire pit, all set against the backdrop of scenic vineyard vistas.

Both guest houses are fitted with fully equipped modern kitchens, featuring a refrigerator, an oven with a stove, a water dispenser, and all necessary appliances. Each home includes an open-plan lounge that leads to a private patio, complete with a braai area or fire pit, offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and the farm's orchards and vegetable fields.

Farm

Varkenskraal is a relatively small farm, comprising around ninety hectares, of which fourteen are cultivated. More than seven hectares are planted with vineyards, while the rest is devoted to diverse farming activities, including vegetable seed production, oats, lucerne, and a small herd of Nguni cattle.

Attractions

Embark on a scenic journey to Klaarstroom, located 20 km away, before continuing to the town of Prince Albert (70 km) via the picturesque Prince Albert Valley. Return through the dramatic Swartberg Pass, with the option to visit Gamkaskloof/Die Hel and the Oude Muragie Road. Be sure to explore the Cango Caves and the Rust & Vrede waterfall on your way.
