For those who appreciate beautiful things, this delightful house will be sure to impress. The Victorian Villa was built in 1814 in the Cape Dutch style, the house was converted into its current Victorian appearance in 1880.

Every room in this extraordinary 200 year old gem is abundantly decorated with opulent European antiques and original artwork to create an old world Victorian charm. The Cape Winelands house exudes elegance and makes for a very special stay.

Self Catering Accommodation

The Victorian Villa sleeps six guests in three large bedrooms and one full bathroom as well as a large open plan lounge/dining room, kitchen and scullery. The large main bedroom at this self-catering house in Tulbagh is tastefully furnished and dominated by its antique brass 4-poster bed. The room has window onto the back veranda.

The second double room is located at the front of the house with Persian carpets and antique furniture. The Victorian iron and brass bed will ensure an authentic feel. The third room at the front of the house has two singles beds, Persian carpets and nautical art. Mosquito nets in the summer and electrical blankets in the winter will ensure year around good sleep.

The living area was designed with seating around the piano and flat screen TV, the comfortable over size sofas and Queen Ann Chairs make for a stylish night in doors while the mahogany dining room table which seats six, (can be extended to twelve) is perfect for formal entertaining.

The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for those seeking self-catering accommodation in Tulbagh and although small it is well designed and offers ample working place. The kitchen features large double fridge and freezer, gas hob and oven, microwave, toaster and kettle. Full sets of guest crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans and standard kitchen equipment. The convenient scullery alongside offers out-of-site storage, preparation and washing up facilities.

The house offers a quiet covered front veranda on Church Street where you can sit on benches and greet the tourists and visitors walking down the street. Alternately the back veranda off the kitchen has a table for eight with tranquil views down the garden to the pool and beyond.

The established garden is a private and tranquil paradise with enormous antique oak trees and curtains of foliage and colourful plantings. The large swimming pool and wonderful thatched lapa / boma with built in braai / BBQ alongside as well as lawned areas which are great for entertaining and keeping the whole family in holiday mode.
