About Waboomhoek House

Waboomhoek offers Cederberg accommodation at Mount Ceder in a unique location close to large pools in the perennial Groot River. Mount Ceder lies within easy reach along the main route through the Cederberg mountain range. It is a great wilderness area with majestic views, amazing spring flowers, rugged mountain bike rides, walks and hikes – perfect for the young and not-so young.

Self Catering Accommodation

Waboomhoek is a self catering holiday home in Cederberg. The first bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, toilet and basin. The second bedroom is furnished with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. The loft room is furnished with two three-quarter beds and makes use of a separate bathroom downstairs with a shower, toilet and basin.

The open-plan kitchen contains a fridge, a microwave, a gas stove and an oven. There is a comfortable living area with a fireplace for warmth in winter and an outdoor fireplace to braai / barbeque. There is a dining table outside on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful fresh air whilst enjoying a meal.

There is a private spot at the river that is accessible by taking a short walk down a path from the front lawn, where our guests can easily access the river to go canoeing or even just to go for a swim on a hot day. The bird life at the river is plentiful and one can hear their sweet song fill the early morning air.

Dining

The Old Mill House is a licensed restaurant at Mount Ceder, serving breakfasts, light lunches and dinners. The meals are served on a fixed menu basis and cater for most dietary requirements. Evening meals do need to be pre-booked 24 hrs in advance and any special dietary requirements made known when booking.

Activities

With a perennial clear river, wonderful bird life and stunning mountain scenery, Mount Ceder has activities for every taste and level of fitness. Come to the Cederberg and enjoy the mountain scenery and the many activities Mount Ceder has to offer, or just read a book at your house and relax.

In addition to the many opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and swimming on the property, we are also within driving distance to many other Cederberg attractions and various 4x4 routes.
