Where two oceans meet and about as close to paradise as you can get. Perched on the oceans edge, Whale Huys has beautiful unobstructed sea views from all living areas, dining areas and bedrooms. Fall asleep and wake to the sound of the waves gently lapping at the rocks below.

Each bedroom opens out onto its own sea front balcony. The uninterrupted panoramic views of Walker Bay and the surrounding mountain range extend up to Hangklip and even the Cape of Good Hope on a clear day.

Exclusive Use Accommodation

Combining the warmth and character of traditional thatched roof architecture with the luxury of a modern holiday villa, Whale Huys has conveniences like DStv Premium satellite TV, free wireless internet and a laptop you can use to check your mail or surf the web.

There are four en-suite bedrooms each of which have a balcony offering phenomenal ocean views. The living room has a wood burning fireplace and is the ideal place to snuggle up in the evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped for your self catering needs.

Outside Facilities

Outside you can make use of the braai / barbeque facilities on the large terrace and can enjoy a dip in the rim flow swimming pool.

The property boasts a number of solar panels that provide clean energy. Enjoy your stay without concerning yourself with load shedding.

The villa is rich with dozens of species of birds and animals live in the native fynbos around the property.

Pets

Pets are welcome only if they are well behaved and house trained.

Eco Friendly Efforts

In all that we do, we try to have as light a touch as possible on the environment while still providing a comfortable and relaxing stay.The eco-wood deck is manufactured from recycled plastic rather than unsustainably harvested hard woods. As much as possible we choose for environmentally friendlier products, including the Afriearth shampoos, soaps and other amenities. The solar geysers provide most of our hot water and this is supplemented by an electric boiler. If at any point you need more hot water you can press the red buttons on the far left of the controllers in the cupboard in the upper second bedroom (first on the left). This will switch on the electric supplementary heaters. They turn off again when they reach 55 degrees. The lighting at Whale Huys is also fitted with low-energy LED lighting and the slow combustion fireplace is designed to optimize heat while reducing the amount of wood used. All of our new appliances, like the dishwasher, oven and refrigerator are A rated (or better) for low energy consumption.

The Area

The area is rich in culture and things to do. Elim, a world heritage village, is 30 minutes away. Active adventures include wilderness and beach side horseback riding, South Africa's shark cage diving capital, Kleinbaai, is just 10 minutes away. In fact, you can see all of the ‘Marine Big 5' within a 15 minute radius of the villa, and most of them right from the villa.

Some of South Africa's best wine estates are also just a short drive away.
