About Yellowwood Cottage at Komati Gorge

On the banks of the Komati River, at the base of a miniature Grand Canyon, this small village of thatched dwellings provides affordable luxury in a most dramatic setting. Yellowwood Cottage is located at Komati Gorge Lodge, only 2½ hours from Gauteng, situated near the village of Dullstroom.

This untouched expanse of 1200ha with its thorn bushveld and highveld grassland offers an unparalleled experience to nature lovers. The biodiversity creates a perfect environment for the prolific birdlife and a wide range of indigenous trees, shrubs and wild flowers. Game on the farm includes zebra, blue wildebeest, eland, kudu, blesbok, warthog, duiker and many more.

Self Catering Accommodation

Yellowwood Cottage is located right on the river and has five en-suite bedrooms with Queen-size beds and a loft room with two single beds for the kids. The en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. One also has a bath.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave and toaster. The comfortable lounge has a TV with DStv, fireplace and there is a large dining area.

Outside there is a private patio and BBQ / braai facilities.

Well trained pets are welcome by arrangement.

On Site Facilities

Guests can cool down in our swimming pool or do some tubing down the river. There is an on-site restaurant. Gourmet meals and desserts compliments the exquisite service you will receive at our restaurant and the atmosphere is utterly alluring. We also have a fully stocked bar for our guests to enjoy refreshments from our wide selection of beverages.

Attractions

Situated in a sheltered canyon near Carolina, surrounded by the peaceful scenery, there's much to discover on our reserve. If you would like to go for a boat trip up the river, the canoes are available along the river towards Yellowwood house. We have quite a variety of game and other small animals on the reserve and surrounding areas.
