The little village of Hartbeespoort lies right on the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam, basking in the sunlight on the slopes of the Magaliesberg. From Johannesburg:
Drive on the R511 past Diepsloot (N), turn left on R511 Hartbeespoort, drive 17km. Drive over 4-way stop. Drive 2km and turn left at Amakudu Lodge.
From Pretoria:
Drive on Church street (W). Drive on the toll road to Hartbeespoort. After two toll gates, go on the slipway onto the bridge, turn right and drive towards the 4-way stop (Sasol garage is in front of you). Turn right (Santon), drive 100m and turn right at Amakudu Lodge.
