That Phalaborwa never gets cold is something of a euphemism to describe the intense heat that can grip the modern, copper mining town, situated just 3 kilometres from the Kruger National Park, during summer in particular. From Kruger National Park:
From the Kuger National Park Gate proceed straight to the four way crossing (Spar will be on your left). Cross onto the R71/Hendrik van Eck Road, crossing the bridge, past the traffic lights to the other side of town. At the following four way crossing turn right onto Spekboom Street. Follow till you get Grey Street (it is the 2nd road on your right). Follow along this road (koppie on your left) to a Y-junction, take the road on the right and then turn left onto Tulbach Street. A Traveller's Palm is a few houses down on your left hand side.
From Tzaneen:
Coming into Phalaborwa from the R71, you will turn left at the four way crossing onto Spekboom Street. Follow till you get Grey Street (it is the 2nd road on your right). From Hoedspruit:
Coming into Phalaborwa from the R40, turn left at the T-junction then left again at the 3-way crossing. At the fourway stop cross straight onto Spekboom Street. Follow till you get Grey Street (it is the 2nd road on your right). Follow along this road (koppie on your left) to a Y-junction, take the road on the right and then turn left onto Tulbach Street. A Traveller's Palm is a few houses down on your left hand side.
