Wellington lies on the banks of the River Kromme at the foot of the Groenberg Mountain in a glorious valley just 45 minutes' drive from Cape Town. Drive on the N1, travelling North from Cape Town. Turn left on the R44 turnoff to Wellington. At the stop, zero your odometer and turn left to Wellington. After 500m you will notice sign boards on your left indicating the start of the Paarl Wine Route and Animal Zone on your left. After approximately 18km (From point 1 above) you will pass Neethlingshof Estate on your left. After 20.2km you will reach a 4-way stop intersection. Continue straight towards Wellington. This is also the start of the Wellington Wine Route. Continue straight through the first robot at approximately 23.5 km's and turn left at the very next robot, 24.4km's. Turn right at the next robot (Kerk Street)(25.6km's), you will see the Andrew Murray statue on your left in front of the Church. Head straight through the Central Business District, cross the 3-way stop street at 26.7km's and the 4-way stop 27.2km's. Pass Bovlei Winery on your right hand side at 28.2km's. After 28.5km's you will see the following sign, turn left here into Hill Road. You will see Redemption Shop on your left. 50m on and you will see the following sign to Bovlei Valley Road, turn right here. At the next intersection turn right (29.1km's) and continue straight onto the gravel road. You will see the signage to Bovlei Valley Retreat on your right hand side after 31.1km. Turn right here. At 31.3km's you will see the entrance to Bovlei Valley Retreat on your left hand side.
