It was a retreat away from the hub of the city, somewhere one could escape to cooler air and guaranteed peace and quiet. Get onto the N2 Southbound, take exit 165 and follow the Pietermaritzburg / Johannesburg signs on the N3 Highway
Keep left, follow the Pietermaritzburg signs past the Pavilion Shopping Centre
Take the M13A, past Pinetown, Kloof, Gillits and take exit No 28
At the traffic lights, turn right into Old Main Road
At the 12th set of traffic lights turn right into Inanda Road (Pick ‘n Pay centre is on your right)
Travel for 1.7km's and at the second Branley Lodge sign - turn right into Hilltop Road
Travel for 1km and turn left into No 35 Hilltop Road “Branley Lodge”
FROM THE SOUTH COAST
Take the N2 towards “Stanger / Pietermaritzburg”
Stay in the left lane and veer off, following the N3 Durban / Pietermaritzburg / Johannesburg - exit 165
Keep left, follow the Pietermaritzburg signs past the Pavilion Shopping Centre
Take the M13A, past Pinetown, Kloof, Gillits and take exit No 28
At the traffic lights, turn right into Old Main Road
At the 12th set of traffic lights turn right into Inanda Road (Pick ‘n Pay centre is on your right)
Travel for 1.7km's and at the second Branley Lodge sign - turn right into Hilltop Road

Turn left at the yield (R103) Hillcrest
Travel for 3.3km's
At traffic lights turn right into Old Main Road (R103 Durban)
Travel for 1.1km's and turn left into Inanda Road
Travel for 1.7km's and at the second Branley Lodge sign - turn right into Hilltop Road
Travel for 1km and turn left into No. 35 Hilltop Road “Branley Lodge”
