Noetzie is a hamlet - some people describe it simply as a beach - just east of the Garden Route town of Knysna. From Cape Town
Travel all the way through Knysna on the N2. When coming out of Knysna you will pass Hornlee (on the right) as you travel up the hill towards Plettenberg Bay. At the top of the hill on the N2, just after you pass beneath the public overhead walkway, you will come to a 4-way (crossroads) sign-posted Uniondale to the left and Noetzie to the right. Turn right to Noetzie.
Note: if coming from the direction of Plettenberg Bay – as you get to the outskirts of Knysna you approach a township and there are speed cameras on the left (watch your speed!). Directly after the speed cameras is the left-hand turn to Noetzie. When you have turned onto the Noetzie Road continue along it until you reach the public car park at the end (after approximately 3.5kms). There is a public footpath from this car park leading down to Noetzie beach.
Craighross Castle is on the left of this footpath as you approach the sand.
