Approached from Cape Town, the most pleasing route is as follows: Take N1 north until you reach Exit 47, the R44, which you follow in the direction of Wellington for 28 kms. Do not turn off this road. Keep on the R44 until you come to a T-Junction - the sign will indicate Wellington to the left and Paarl (R301) to the right. Turn right and drive downhill for approximately 1 km. You will see the signs to Diemersfontein on your left.
