Die Opstal at Aardvark

Die Opstal is a comfortable and stylish of-the-grid farm house, the largest of our cottages/houses. Easily sleeping 8 people, this quirky but classic house offers a large fully equipped kitchen with a pizza oven, two in-door fireplaces, a wood fired hot tub on one of two large patios and your own boma/lapa. You also have your own tv room and then of course a bicycle shed. The house is very private and your are close to the Miertjies Kraal Dam, and our hiking and MTB trails. Die Opstal, a 4-bedroom farm house is uniquely settled in our "farm to table" Western section of Aardvark, frequented by free-roaming chickens and surrounded by fig, pomegranate, and olive trees. You are also walking distance from our vegetable gardens. On the Eastern Section , game include Springbuck, Eland, Kudu, Oryx, Giraffes, Ostriches, Blesbuck, Zebras, and of course our very secretive Aardvark. Mountain bike trails on the East and Western Sections are clearly marked. Enjoy "sundowners", the vast space, silence, stars, hiking and more than 65km of carefully designed mountain bike trails for both beginners and advanced riders. Organic "farm to table" products are available subject to seasonal availability. They include free range duck, chicken, eggs, vegetables, lamb, game and ostrich meat, and figs. Vegetables and fruit are complimentary. Guests will have access to the entire Farm House and hiking and mountain bike trails on the western section. The eastern section is accessible for mountain biking. Nature/game drives are included, subject to availability. Roads to our cottages are well maintained but many areas are only accessible only by 4*4.
