Frank and Jade were excellent hosts! They were incredibly kind and hospitable, going the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Upon our arrival, they warmly welcomed us with thoughtful touches like bottled water, teas, and crackers in every room, as well as fresh fruit, milk, and other essentials. These gestures made our stay much more convenient and comfortable.

What an amazing stay at Douglas Lodge, exactly what I had wanted - thanks so much to Jade and Shoes for displaying SA hospitality at its most.

This space was lovely. The thatched roof made it very African and the sleeping accommodations were lovely and we were welcomed with a couple of fresh fruit bowls as well as tea, coffee, tea kettles and cookies in each room. For reasons beyond anyone’s control, we had no water for the first 24 hours, but Jade came to our rescue and brought in water jugs. The pool was not as pristine looking as the photos, but they were actively trying to get it back up to scratch again. It was lovely to have a tennis court, and the washer and clothes line worked like a bomb. It would have been nice to have had a dishwasher!

This is our second time staying with Frank and will certainly book with Frank again if there is another trip to Johannesburg. We were warmly welcomed again and the housekeeper immediately recognized us after two years. He was always available to us when we needed something. The house is just perfect, very quietly located in a safe area, shopping and gastronomy nearby and easy to reach (in South Africa always by car of course). We were all very comfortable again and enjoyed the two days very much.

Our stay the Douglas Lodge was a absolutely exquisite, the staff and facility was exceptional. I would love to say thanks to Ta Shoes & David for welcoming us with open arms they made the visit worth it. I'm definitely recommending it to my other friends & family who would be looking for a home away from home if they need a getaway home. I personally will be coming back to this lodge.

Douglas Lodge was a great place for long stays & perfect for large groups. On the property are 2 extremely helpful gentlemen, namely David & Shoes. They accommodated our every need. Frank was incredibly polite and helpful, a great communicator. This place easily gets 10 out of 10! We will rebook again anytime in the future! What a great stay! BIG SMILES ALL ROUND.

My sons had soccer tournaments in two different locations and the house was very central and a quick drive to either location

This is an oasis in the city. Great place for a family to have fun and relax within the secured, spacious parameters of the property. Shoes absolutely blew our minds away when it came to feeling at home. With a big family like ours, he made the load of the everyday-tasks so much lighter. Mike was always attentive to any issues and went the extra mile to solve them. This is hands down one of the best airbnb's we've stayed at.

Nice stay, enough space for a big company. Felt like home during our stay.

It was great. The kids enjoyed and played at the tennis court. They had a lemon tree, we got to enjoy fresh lemons. Shoes and Gavin were awesome. We didn’t get to enjoy the pool because of the weather. I would wish to come back in summer
