Quaint, taken back in time, friendly, very clean, delicious food. Perfect halfway stopover.

We were not impressed with Green Lantern, it's old and has a distinct moldy smell throughout the place. There is no internet in the rooms and the bathrooms are in need of a do over. We had no hot water for our morning shower. The owners were very understanding and allowed us to book out early without penalty.

Every year we take a bunch of friends for a mountain bike weekend to Van Reenen area. This year was the third year and we always stay at the Green Lantern. What an awesome place to make memories that will last a lifetime ! The Hotel and staff are a special bunch and we will go back year after year not so much for the mountain biking but more for the special atmosphere at the hotel. The owners has done some awesome upgrades and we are already looking forward to going back next year. What a nice surprise. It is a little treasure trove with clean comfortable rooms, an inviting pub, amazing country fare. And all dating back to 1892.

A pleasant overnight stop with clean comfortable accomodation and good comfort food at a fair and reasonable price.

My stay at the green lantern was very different to other places i have stayed in before,the host n hostess were very friendly especially Marion,although the chalets were still being done and not ready for accomadation,after being shown the hotel accomadation i think that would have been a better option.The meals were prepared wonderfully and the staff were friendly.I will be going back there again i hope the charlets will be better equipped this time.

We had a great weekend there. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
