We arrived at a clean and very cosy cottage equipped with everything we required for the weekend. The farm is situated in beautiful surroundings and we thoroughly enjoyed the site seeing. The farm manager was most helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay that much more enjoyable. The preserves offered on sale at the farm are absolutely delicious! As it was quite hot during the day we would have loved to have had a dip in the little tub adjoining the cottage but unfortunately it only had a few centimeters of dirty water in it. Otherwise - a really relaxing getaway.

Dear Gawie, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the ministrations of Gerrie were beyond reproach. The scene from the veranda is fantastic with the ever-changing shades of colour on the fields and mountains as the sun moved across the cotton-wool clouded sky. It is a pity that one is unable to appreciate the god-given view from inside the cottage, the windows being too high and the sliding door too small. It would have been great to lay snug in bed (with cats) and able to gaze out on the early morning scene Especially in cold weather. Had no success with the bass as the fish refused to co-operate due to the cold. Even the lures Gerrie pressed on me didn`t bring about any result. No matter, we had a great time despite Hilary battling a bout of flu contracted prior to our arrival. Happily, due to the pristine air it cleared by the time of our departure. We will be back!! Please tell Gerrie that his highly praised recommendation that we drop in at Belvry was an experience in itself and we will pass on to any of our friends who might be travelling through the Langkloof the suggestion that they make both Grootnek and Belfry a definite stopover. We spent an absolutely wonderful weekend at Grootnek guest farm. The location and scenery is of the best in South Africa, the hospitality is warm and inviting and the farm offers a lovely atmosphere to relax in while still providing fun and interesting activities associated with farm life. Grootnek is a great place to go to to relax and unwind and also would make a convenient stop over on the Route 62.

It truly was an unforgettable weekend at your guest farm! The beautiful view and sunset over the valley was good food for the human soul. The untouched nature was breathtaking. The decor is done with so much class and style. It is no secret that a lot of time, effort and thought went into it. It is stunning. Thank you for your warm welcoming and spontaneous hospitality.
