Lying on the other side of the Keurbooms River from Plettenberg Bay, Keurboomstrand (or beach) lies on an enviable part of the Garden Route, highly popular for camping, fishing and swimming. But don't let the idea of holiday fever crowds deter you during the off season, as the views and beach at Keurbooms Strand are pretty spectacular. The word 'keurboom' comes from the local Keurboom tree or ... cont.
Take the N2 travelling East through Plettenberg Bay [in the direction of Port Elizabeth] and cross over two bridges - the Bitou and the Keurbooms. Immediately after the second bridge there are two exits on the right hand side. Take the second one - signposted Keurboomstrand. After a short distance there's a right hand turn [at Wybo's Grill]. Take this turn and travel for approximately 3kms until you see the Driftwood gate / entrance on the right. Go past this gate and stop at the next security gate on the right; Whales Haven.
When inside Whales Haven go to the top of the road and take the left hand road [Martins Road].
Home by the Beach is the last housed on the right hand side at the end.
