The unpretentious bohemian fishing village of Kalk Bay lies between the mountains and the sea, just 25 minutes' from Cape Town. Home to one of the last remaining working harbours in South Africa, not only can you meet the returning boats for the catch of the day at noon, but the little cobbled streets, shops and restaurants make this an easy place to while away the time and forget the fast ... cont.
Leave the Airport on the N2 in the direction of Cape Town. Only turn left when you see the sign for the M3 towards Muizenberg. Take that exit and once you are on the M3, follow this highway until its end where you turn left. At the next traffic lights turn right.
You can now either follow the M4, the main road along the coast or turn right into Boyes Drive (recommended). Kalk Bay is located at the end of Boyes Drive. If you are coming along Boyes Drive (mountain road), drive until the road starts to dip and make a right turn just opposite the school into Harbour road, right into Barton and second right into Gordon Road. Fisherman's Cottage is the last house on the right corner with the white walls and wooden gate. We will meet you here.
