The little hamlet of Simondium lies at the upper point of a triangle with Stellenbosch and Franschhoek on the R45 and, because it is the lesser known of the three, tends to be described in terms of the other two towns, with little to warrant a visit in its own right. Follow the N1 from Cape Town International Airport, turn left onto EXIT 47, which is the Klapmuts/Stellenbosch offramp. Turn right at the R44, go under the N1 bridge and straight over the 4-way robot. About 300m further is a set of robots, turn left towards Franschhoek (straight would take you to Stellenbosch). About 10 km further is a T-junction. Turn left onto the R45 (Right would take you to Franschhoek). Approximately 200m further on your right is the entrance (a dirt road) to Kimis Cottage. Go past the first gate on your right, we are the second gate on your right (approximately 70 m from the tar road).
