The sleepy little village of Magaliesburg lies in the Witwatersberg - the actual Magaliesberg Mountains are a further 8 kilometres or so north of here - its nearest neighbours the unassuming towns of Doornhoek and Hekpoort, an easy hour’s drive from Johannesburg. Follow the Beyers/Naude off-ramp of the Roodepoort highway at the robot turn right towards Honeydew, follow until you see the PTA N14 HIGHWAY spiral down onto the N14.
From Pretoria
and keep towards KRUGERSDORP on the N14. Until you get to a 4WAY/STOP big intersection (SASOL GARAGE), turn RIGHT at this 4waystop STILL on the N14 TOWARDS TARLTON.
Follow this road until the next T-JUNCTION/OAKTREE GARAGE In-front You will see a sign saying HEKPOORT R563 to the RIGHT, turn right and keep on the R563 HEKPOORT FOR ABOUT 8km uphill- until THE1ST R24 Magaliesburg/WORLDHERITAGE.SITE/MAROPENG/TURNOFF turn off to the left- PAST THE NEW “MAROPENG” DEVELOPEMENT, FOLLOW THIS ROAD UNTIL you get to the next 4WAY-STOP/ this will be crossing the R24 (TOWARDS RUSTENBURG/ MAGALIESBURG!) TURN RIGHT at this crossing, Magaliesburg will now be about 15kms from here.
As you come through the village of Magaliesburg you get to the 2nd traincrossing keep to your RIGHT ON THE RUSTENBURG ROAD ,we are 1.5 KMS outside the Village,on the right hand side. We have a WOODEN FENCE with “OUT OF AFRICA” written on the fence, big blue and white La Provence signs turn in, WELCOME!
