That Phalaborwa never gets cold is something of a euphemism to describe the intense heat that can grip the modern, copper mining town, situated just 3 kilometres from the Kruger National Park, during summer in particular. It does render the town of Phalaborwa a great place to stay during winter, however, and many tourists take advantage of the warm temperature for a winter sojourn, ... cont.

From Pretoria on the N1 Freeway to Polokwane bypass to Tzaneen & Phalaborwa on the R71: At the west entrance to Phalaborwa town by the Elephant tusks, at the 4 way stop turn left into Spekboom this is a double road. Continue driving northwards down this road missing the first and second roads on the right. Continue as the road becomes a single lane and just after a koptjie (little granite outcrop) on the right, take the first road right called Visarend and the first left which is Bateleur. We are on the right side, identified by signs and the name on the wall. Please drive straight in and park. The booking reception area is along the pathway. Our car park is at the rear of the double property in Troupand Crescent.
From Lydenburg
From Lydenburg / Nelspruit / Graskop / Hoedspruit on the R530: Turn right at the first 4 way stop which is a short cut to Phalaborwa / Kruger National Park. At the south entrance to town by the Elephant tusks turn left and left again after a sharp bend. You will now be at the 4 way in the above directions. Drive across this four way into Spekboom and follow those above directions.
From the airport exit road: Turn left into President Steyn to the traffic lights. Turn right up Hendrick van Eck through the next traffic lights to the four ways stop then turn right. Generally follow our signs on the lamp poles.
From the Kruger National Park Gate: Drive straight through the first & second set of traffic lights to the last four way stop and turn right into Spekboom and follow the above directions.
