The overall stay was good and enjoyed the food. Tranquility that I needed. The issue with the game drives was that I was allocated a vehicle that had a faulty radio and the ranger was unable to communicate with fellow rangers but only receive communication from them. First morning drive, the ranger did not have a remote to open the gates to cross over to the lion camp to and from, and we had to wait for another vehicle to open the gates form us, which ate our game drive time. Second morning drive, the ranger was borrowed a remote for the gates but there were no blankets or ponchos (I would have brought my jacket if I was notified prior that blankets were given to another vehicle and won't be available) in the vehicle and had to bare the cold wind. This was disappointing considering that I had splendid game drives with no issues in my previous visits to the lodge. Management of game drive vehicles requires improvement to ensure that all vehicles are equipped with functioning equipment and have the necessary accessories for all visitors to receive the same service, not animal farm service.

The lodge is beautiful and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious and lots of variety on all the meals. The New Years eve dinner and entertainment was great. However I was extremely disappointed by the room allocation. I booked and paid for a superior room with sleeper couch as we were travelling with two small children. We were allocated a normal superior room, a room of a lesser rate than I have paid and the room does not have a bath tub to bath my small children. When I informed the lodge that the room allocated to us is not what I booked and paid for, I was informed the room type I booked are fully occupied. We were offered a bath tub which did not help as it is for small babies and our sleeping arrangement was not as comfortable as it was meant to be. On check out the manager undertook to take up the matter with their head office, I still have not received feedback. I honestly feel robbed to have paid for something and to be given something inferior.

The lodge is beautiful. The workers were very nice. Food was pretty good. The only complaint I have was our guide. I can't remember his name but he was was a little older ( 35) than most of the guides a bit on the heavy side. He was pretty quiet about what we were seeing and he didn't ask our group if we wanted to go on the sunset view after our regular tour. Which the other other people in our tour group got to experience. We were able to ride with another guide on our last day and he was great. Told us all sorts of things about the surrounding area vegation and animals and little funny stories. Over all the lodge is beautiful the people for the most part are great. Since the game drive is a big part of your stay here beware of heavy set set guides with reddish brown hair that mumble.

We thoroughly enjoyed our "Bush" experience, every time we have the priveladge of staying at Mabula we wish we could return more often. Its not all about seeing Large herds of animals, but being emersed in the African Bush. Game drives are always very interesting, and we always learn something new about the animals, flora, and fauna. Well done Mabula for the management of some incredible animals. We saw a lot of Rhino, Bufalo,Various Buck, Zebra, Giraffe, Male Lion, Female and Cub, and Elephant. A massive Croc, monitor lizards, Warthog, Aartvark, Jackal, many birds etc etc all in four days! Not too bad. Wish we could have spent longer . Thank you Mabula keep up the good work
