The hotel is rather rustic, reminiscent of hotels of “the old days”. It's very well maintained. The bedroom was comfortable and each room had a small patio area, which we didn't use as the days we were there were windy. The restaurant area is spacious and the tables laid with crisp linen and sparkling glasses for wine and water. All the staff were helpful and friendly.. The big drawback for us was the gravel roads which were poor. I had misread the google maps and thought there was a tar road, which there was into Witsands. Unfortunately the remainder of the journey was on an extremely poor gravel road. The staff at the hotel were helpful in recommending a better gravel road for our journey back to Somerset West.

The hotel as well as the staff were fantastic. Dinner was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. Great value for money. The bathroom was the only challenge, seeing that the shower, toilet and basin is basically one space. The whole bathroom floor gets wet.

I really liked the Malagas Hotel, and would go there any holiday or weekend. The newly updated superior rooms are the way to go. The hotel is suited in a unique environment where you feel at one with nature! When we arrived the staff were most friendly, and greeted us and showed us to our room. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the food is country style with tasty and a wide variety of foods. We went there recently and especially enjoyed the relaxed and respectful atmosphere. Our family loved the boat ride. There is a swimming pool, as well as the river. trampolines, and a play area with swings, jungle jym and lots of grass to run. We all went for a walk to the nearby church and lovely wild flowers. I had a great time and the memories will be with us forever.
