Well located in Umhlanga, although you can't swim at the beach across the road. We travelled with young children and they enjoyed paddling in the water and playing on the sand there. We took a drive to one of the swimming beaches, which was lovely. The shops and restaurants are close by, with a large variety being available. The apartment had everything we needed. It was nice that they supplied swimming towels too, as most don't. Easy to get to with the directions supplied and very friendly rental person to deal with. A lovely cleaner came in, who did some ninja trick with the washing machine to get our laundry out which was stuck in there! The drawbacks were that the two bedrooms at "the back", (non-sea facing), both had loads of ambient light from outside the windows, making it difficult to sleep; the main bedroom had the hardest mattress we have ever slept on! I left with aches in my bones. Throughout the flat, the pillows were extremely hard, so we took cushions off the sofa to sleep on.
