Visiting Mattanu Private Game Reserve was a new and very different experience! Antelope, like we have never seen before and with a guide whose knowledge of these and other wild animals made our time there, interesting, fascinating and educational and the location for sundowners was a treat! The hospitality, food and attention to detail completed our stay at Mattanu.

We camped for 2 nights at Mattanu and were luck to be the only campers. It is a beautiful and quiet campsite with excellent ablutions, wash-up area, splash pool and communal braai and seating area overlooking a waterhole. Camp sites well spaced and each with their own braai area. Reception and staff were very friendly and came to check every day if all was good. Highly recommended and we will definitely return. We felt very safe. Access to reserve strictly controlled.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were received with warm and open hearts. The food was excellent and the game drives very informative and enjoyable. Thank you to the hosts and Nadia, it was a stay we will always remember.

We had a great experience at Mattanu Private Game Reserve. The weekend away was our first holiday after five, long, months of the lock-down, so it was a relief that the stay at Mattanu was all that we expected and more. We specifically enjoyed the sunset game drive; sumptuous dinner; and interacting with Dr Kriek, who founded Mattanu, and his son and the reserve's Director of Marketing, Jacques Kriek (both are salt of the earth people). For accommodation, we had chosen a luxury safari tent, which turned out to be the ultimate glamping experience. We will most definitely consider another stay at Mattanu, the next time we find ourselves in the Northern Cape.

I would recommend Mattanu at anytime. I came for my prebirthday celebration and it was nice. Friendly staff,i enjoyed the game drive,massage and quad biking. I will definitely come again
