Hard to believe that Umhlanga, the buzzing residential, commercial and resort suburb just outside of Durban, was once a seaside resort town called Umhlanga Rocks. During the early seventies it merged with La Lucia to become what it is today - Umhlanga - pronounced Umshlanga and meaning “place of reeds” in Zulu. Travel from N2 Gateway off ramp. Proceed On M41 towards Phoenix, take second off ramp, (Trade Centre Land Mark), turn left. Turn into Phoenix Highway. At robot, must turn left Into R102 travelling South (landmark ) at the Sasol service station. Drive for about 3 km, passing Mount Edgecombe Plaza. Pass 2 robots & at the 3rd robot turn left Into Mt. Edgecombe Drive. First left turn Is Mountview Close and The Mount Edgecombe Conference Centre is on tour right.
From the South
From The N2 take Phoenix / Kwa Mashu / North Coast off ramp and urn left. Pass Sasol Service Station / Corobrick and turn left towards Duffs Road. At the stop street turn right (new robot). Proceed to first set of robots (about 3km). Turn right Into Mt. Edgecombe Drive. First left turn is Mountview Close. Venue is on the right.
