Enjoyed staying at saffron cottage. Simple cottage, but exttemely charming. Loved the indoor fireplace for warmth and braai.

Our stay at Middelfontein in the Saffraan cottage was a pleasant experience, and we enjoyed it very much. If you like to relax, explore nature and enjoy the peaceful tranquility, then this is for you. There is Vodacom cell phone coverage, although in future a solar panel for cell phone charging will be appreciated. Bring enough fire wood , you will need it during those cold winter evenings. The cottage is situated close to town, should you need something. We highly recommend it.

The facilities are basic (e.g. no kitchen sink - a washing tub is provided), but it is completely private and the view and stargazing are amazing.

We had a wonderful visit to Sutherland and Middelfontein farm. Juanita is extremely helpful. The accommodation at "Fonteintjie" was very well equipped. We were very comfortable, and the surrounding farm is quite lovely.
