Room in main building was nice with a view at the front side. The rooms for the kids were ok, but only a relatively small queen was available per room for the kids, and the rooms were quite dated and need some overhaul. The dinner was perhaps overrated via one of our friends, we had to wait two hours for our dinner, we relied not what we ordered and in all fairness a disappointment, other than the two of us who did get the kudu that tasted very nice. It was clear the staff were stretched and not enough staff working there to give a proper service. Driving the St Albert pass can be recommended, also in a normal car.

Lovely old hotel with wooden creaking floors and Victorian charm. A great overnight stop on our way to Cape Town. The food was outstanding, we had both our dinner and breakfast in the hotel. There is a lovely pool, which was well needed as the temperature was around 38 degrees! We would go back.
