Sophie the host was excellent, we enjoyed her company. The cottage is very decent, and the braai is too. the 2,500 acres is small in SA terms, but has many animals herding and roaming; on a drive with Sophie we saw many antelope species, buffalo through to giraffe; in addition she is a zoologist able to give good information. And with a watering hole in sight from the cottage, the frequent visitors are great to watch. We enjoyed our stay very much, a lot to recommend and a less common but good route to the Phalaborwa Gate and the middle section of Kruger and Letaba where we went on to stay. We exited through Orpen gate, and so a non repetitive circuit through Kruger. And not forgetting the surprise Boabab tree in Gravelot, 5th oldest tree in the world at 3,800 years, the other four are in the Amazon.

We had such a relaxing stay at the cottage. It is surrounded by the bushveld and an excellent place to escape and enjoy the serenity. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and arranged a game drive on one of the private nature reserves in the area. There was a lot of rain during our stay which necessitated a 4x4 but I'm sure a normal vehicle will be fine during dryer spells. The braai area was great and we had a cool down in the nearby pool.
