We stayed in the 1 bedroom cottage. The caretaker was very helpful. The facility was pleasant and comfortable. There were/will be small things that the staff take care of quickly. There is wifi but no TV. The drive from Mooi River is a fair distance, the stretch of gravel road is in good condition. Take your own toiletries and towels. I recommend a high-riding vehicle no sedans.

It was great to be at proud foot farm though we had difficulties. The dstv was off our entire stay ,and I was informed on the second day that I had to pay for it separate but I wasn't notified on time yet we were communicating a month before our arrival. On the internet, internet access is mentioned but it's not available on site. The area is refreshing let alone the view of mountains⛰️. As beautiful as the house is but I think they should take a closer look at the balcony floors, they quite getting old now😬. I can't forget to mention the house keeper Ernest, his doing the great job, friendly and welcoming😎. We then had a surprise visit by horses🤗. It was great to be hosted by you. We should call again soon😍

We booked Proud Foot Farm in the hopes of having an amazing family reunion. And I would like to say that our stay was exactly that, but sadly not. The information provided regarding the property did not include the following information: * there was no oven in the 'fully equipped' kitchen - 10 people staying for 5 nights during winter made cooking and keeping food warm a real struggle! There is a gas BBQ outside, but has no thermostat and all of the dials markings have been washed off, with no manual to refer to for cooking instructions. I had emailed the owners after we booked and paid the property to ask for information regarding the equipment in the kitchen, but sadly had no reply. * no washing machine available - again, 10 people including a six month old with no way of doing any laundry apart from hand washing. Which I guess would be ok if we had had enough hot water to do that...and bath/shower, and wash dishes... * the property is run on solar power which we were not made aware of and is not noted on the listing. As it was overcast and rained most of the Friday after we arrived, Saturday was spent without any lights, no use of the microwave, or heaters. By the evening, after many conversations with the gentleman caring for the property, he started a generator at 6pm and advised that we had until 8pm to do what was necessary before he had to shut it down. Maybe he took pity on us, as he left it running...or managed to charge whatever was needed to provide us with a small amount of power for the rest of the evening. But still no heater could be used for the baby's room. * We were advised, via the welcome folder in the bar, that we were gifted a bag of wood (with the option of purchasing more wood) which was no-where to be found. We spoke to the gentleman caring for the property regarding the wood and he seemed to have no knowledge of this, nor was there any wood for us to purchase. Which in turn meant that someone had to be brave enough to tackle the road we had come up which was now muddy and slippery due to the rain that had fallen the previous day and night, to go to the local town to buy firewood. In addition, the house was not very clean, but beds had clearly been made for our arrival. A layer of dust seemed to cover all the surfaces. There are gaps in the walls, roof and windows which were large enough for us to see the outside through and this made the house very cold. The listing states two en-suite bathrooms, but there is only one. Some of the dishes were not in very good condition and some were not usable due to the large number of cracks providing a breeding ground for hepatitis. There were two gas fired geysers on the property, only one of which worked and only fed the kitchen and one bathroom which were on the one side of the property. The second one which fed two showers, a bath and the upstairs bathroom did not heat the water enough for anyone to attempt showering. So, 10 people including a baby had 1 bath to use!! Also, not sure why the television is in the property, as it did not work and the socket in the master bedroom where the DVD player is situated was so loose, we decided not to touch it and therefore could not plug the DVD player in to watch a movie. Apart from that, the view is spectacular, the horses and cows and birds that visit the property were beautiful. And the sunsets are quite something to behold. And these are the only things that made our stay borderline acceptable.

What a beautiful place. perfect place to relax and switch off and bond with family. The road is a little rough but that's only because we don't have a 4x4 - it was an adventure getting there but the house was well worth it, stunning house - looooved the kitchen:-) To those that love the rolling hills of the KZN this house has a view to die for..and the sunset - breathtaking Will definitely be back..this time for much longer

What a beautiful place! The views are truly breathtaking, especially if you take a little hike to the top of the hill behind the house. We found the facilities to be very good and the staff very helpful. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this is a great place for it. Will definitely be back!

Wonderful views, amazing sunsets! We had a restful, enjoyable visit with our families and dogs - ample, comfortable accommodation and happy times in the open plan dining room and around the pit fire. A peaceful, getaway in beautiful surroundings!
