We stayed at Shamwu chalets at Shishangeni. The beautiful dam a few metres from our front verandah was almost always teeming with animals. Our game driver and guide, Sufiso (sp?) was among the best I've ever experienced. Knowledgeable, likeable and continually working hard to ensure we got the very best sightings. Every drive was an experience with sightings of all the big five, including four of leopard. Chalets were clean and beautifully laid out. Two slight negatives. The skins on the floor of the lounge are becoming a tad motheaten and grubby and our young chef was very good in parts, but didn't debone our fish twice and it was always overcooked. All the staff were courteous and friendly. I would definitely return, as the perfect balance of bush solitude and luxury was spot on in this exquisite place.

Me and my wife spent 2 glorious days here. From the moment we arrived there, we were treated like royalty by the very professional staff. The food is excellent, but watch out: you will definitely not loose weight there. The Rangers who take you for game drives are experienced experts. They can show you more than anywhere else I know. I will recommend this Lodge to anyone.
