We arrived on a VERY cold day in the middle of winter. Pieter was there to welcome us. The room was spotlessly clean, the borehole water provided was really delicious and the white towels were lovely and fluffy. The property is secure and well kept and we saw that there was a swimming pool on the other side of the property which would be a great thing to have in the summer months. The duvet was a summer duvet and Pieter give us four blankets. Sadly, the electric blanket was not on the bed as it wasn't working and the aircon seemed out of action too. There was a panel wall heater which provided some warmth but we were Very Very cold. Before bed, we had a hot shower - we were advised to shower in the evening as the pipes may well freeze over and the possibility of not having a shower in the morning was strong - put on a few layers of clothing and got into bed immediately. All in all, the place was clean and well kept, but definitely needs more heat during the winter (it was -3 degrees when we left this morning) but would be lovely during the summer.

What a lovely place with amazing hospitality. Beautiful garden and room with a great bed. Pieter and his wife had made a delish's dinner even with dessert and coffee. We are looking forward to being back in eight days on the way back home. Thank you Rosi & Walter

Even in the (unusual) pouring rain, we were given a very warm welcome by Graeme and the friendly dogs. We had the most delicious dinner served with such style. We left before breakfast but were given the most wonderful padkos, which kept us going all day! We met such lovely fellow travellers at Sprinfontein House. It was a most convivial evening! It is a stop-over I would highly recommend!

What a welcome oasis of calm after a long drive (at least by our British standards). Our bedroom was quiet, comfortable and decorated with fascinating art. Dinner and breakfast were high quality featuring home made items prepared by the friendly and helpful staff. Our host, Graeme, was absolutely charming and is a fascinating conversationalist. All in all, a perfect overnight stop. Thank you Graeme and your team.

Graham is a consummate host. The guest house is in excellent condition. The beds are super comfortable. Our dog was made very welcome. We are definitely staying over more often. Delightful.

The best stop-over between the Cape and Gauteng that we have found. Graeme, our host, and his lovely staff made us comfortable, and prepared a most delicious dinner. The room had everything that we needed and the bed was comfortable. Wish we had found this spot earlier in our lives.

We do a once year road trip from Fish Hoek to Johannesburg and are always on the look out for interesting places to stay for an overnight break. We have stayed in the town of Sprinfontein before but this was the first time at Springfontein House. Our first pleasant surprise was to receive a phone call from the owner to check on our progress, we were 15 minutes away, and he was there to open the gates and greet us on arrival. He showed us to our room and discussed the evening arrangements.. this level of personal, but not intrusive, service characterized our stay. Our suite was traditionally decorated in farmhouse style with a spacious, but tired bathroom. The air con was quiet and effective. Unfortunately there is no fridge. The House is situated in a beautiful and expansive garden with a pool. We had relaxing pre dinner drink sitting outside listening to the bird life. The dining room has several small tables, decorated in "silver service" style. Once again personal service was evident with the owner going from table to table chatting in an unobtrusive manner. The three course meal was excellent, with choices of starter main and desert. The poached pear desert was particularly memorable. We had to leave early the next morning so cannot comment on the breakfast, but we were packed some padkos, by the owner. Our overall impression is very good. The place has a sense of peace and quiet about it, exactly what you need after 9 hours of driving! We would definitely recommend Springfontein house. Ps. The other couples who were there, had stayed several times before, which speaks for itself.

A real unexpected surprise in the little town of Springfontein. A great stopover to break up the trip between Joburg & Cape Town. Facilities were good, food was excellent & the staff very friendly. I would definitely go back and look forward to meeting the owner, Graeme, who was out of town for our visit.
