Lying in the north western corner of the Sundays River Valley, Zuurberg lies at the foot of the mountain of the same name. The historic Zuurberg Pass, almost entirely surrounded by the Greater Addo Elephant National Park, is a narrow cutting through the Zuurberg Mountains, built in the 1850s and the original main route into the hinterland via which today you can also reach the Karoo. Take the N10 towards Paterson. At Paterson turn right onto the R342. Continue on this road for the next 24km. Drive past the entrance to the ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK. You will see a sign on your right-hand side saying "Zuurberg." Turn right here onto a gravel road and travel a further 16 km (up the mountain) until you reach the hotel.
