Firstly a word of thanks and congratulations to the staff of the Mountain Lodge; you are all jewels that express friendliness and an overall willingness to assist in every aspect of your various rolls at the lodge. Bringing me to the second aspect, the rooms: My wife and I were placed in what I assume to be a Standard room. It was clean, well maintained, luxurious enough to make every night most enjoyable. The air conditioning is perfect and hot water is immediately available. Room are cleaned daily by friendly helpful staff. Now getting to the food: The food provided left nothing to be desired; always on time, well prepared and tasty. What you may not miss if you ever do go to the Zebra Nature Reserve is the :Shebeen Dinner"........ what an experience !!!! Activities: We did during our stay not participate in all of the activities but did go on an afternoon (16h00) game drive and can confirm that we just about saw every animal on the reserve; animals are in excellent condition and in abundance. The ranger, forgot her name now, was friendly, courteous with an array of knowledge that was transferred in the hour and a half game drive with ease and confidence, well done. We also visited the reptile center which was equally interesting and quite fascinating to say the least; again full marks here. Suggestions: Even though the cultural village appears not to be used for any specific purpose, both my wife and I did walk through it and are of the opinion that it is an "uncut jewel" that could be better utilized for events similar to the "Shebeen" dinner.... just a thought. The billing system appears to be a bit of an issue as, when we left and had to pay our final bill, not everything that we had consumed or attended was on our bill and we had to advise the reception staff, which were extremely helpful by the way, of the missing items; it is just right to pay for everything that you are obliged to. In conclusion, I will be returning to the Mountain Lodge as my experience was unbelievably enjoyable and I can recommend the Zebra Nature Reserve to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, literally 40 Km from Pretoria. Thank you again to every single member of staff for your hard work and effort, and that includes the gate guard as well; one of the friendliest persons I've met in years.

We had problems with check in and departure as our deposit was not captured on account. We were also given wrong room key and had to get moved on arrival at room. We were also advised that supper was available but were told on arrival at room that it was only toasted sandwiches and had to be ordered by 16H00. We know this was New years but should have been advised on booking if there were special arrangements for food as is not near shops to make alternate arrangements. Our room was very comfortable but the bed for the third adult as booked was not an adult bed but more suitable for a child. There was also no dinner available at our Lodge on Old Years but had to go to another Lodge on the premises for supper. Bar was also closed on New Years day when we were relaxing at poolside. Breakfast was good and main bed very comfortable.

Our stay at Zebra Country Lodge was awesome. The staff was very friendly and always smiling. The food was very good and to top of our weekend stay, we also had interaction with the Giraffe in the field and were able to capture some beautiful pictures. will definitely recommend Zebra Country Lodge (Mountain Lodge). Just one thing the pillows in Bush lodge is not of the best.
